SAHN BICYCLE HELMET RECALL
On September 1, 2016, SAHN voluntarily recalled Classic helmets sold to customers in USA and Canada manufactured between 2013 and 2015.
Please read the information below to see if you are affected by this recall. If you are affected, we ask that you stop using your helmet immediately.
This recall involves the SAHN Classic SH523 bicycle helmet. The helmet has an adjustable dial headband and user replaceable cushioning pads. The helmets were available in various colours in matte and gloss finish, and were offered in two sizes: S/M (53 to 57 centimetres) and L/XL (58 to 61 centimetres).
The model number and name can be found inside the helmet on a white sticker label.
The helmets may not provide adequate protection during impact, posing a risk of a head injury in a fall.
Neither Health Canada nor SAHN Designs Inc. has received any consumer reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these products. No incidents were reported in the United States.
Approximately 1,600 units were sold in Canada, and approximately 2,000 units were sold in the United States.
The recalled products were sold between May 2013 and December 2015.
Manufactured in China.
This recall involves SAHN Classic SH523 adult bicycle helmets. “SAHN” is printed on the outer shell of the helmet on the right side. The production date and “SH-523 Classic” are printed on the white sticker label on the inside of the helmet. The helmets come in matte and gloss colors. Matte colors include black, white, blue, tan, grey, green, cream and brown. Gloss colors include black, white, blue, tan, cream and green.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycle helmets and contact SAHN Designs for a free replacement helmet.
Authorized boutique bicycle dealers from May 2013 through December 2015 for about $130.
